New Delhi. Indian Railways have benefited greatly from the push-pull technology that reduces travel time. Travel time has been reduced by 90 minutes due to the technology used in Rajdhani Express. Now the railway is planning to use this technology in other trains as well.

Indian Railways recently started the first Rajdhani Express from Mumbai to New Delhi to run on the push-pull technology. Through this, there is a difference of up to 90 minutes in travel time. Therefore, now the Railways have prepared 12 such Rajdhani Express trains, which will transport passengers from New Delhi to Mumbai and Kolkata in a very short time. There is a plan to equip all Rajdhani trains with ‘push-pull mode’ in the coming days. At the same time, an official said that in the coming times, push-pull mode will also be used in the century.

Push-pull technique In push-pull mode one engine is forward and one engine is behind. Often on the hill railway track, in front of the train and lastly, engines will be seen on both sides. In the same way, now this technology is being used in normal trains too. In such a situation, where one engine will pull the train forward, the other engine will cover the train from the back. It is currently being used in France’s FEMS TGV system, Euro Star, America’s Acela train and many western rail systems.

This will be a benefit:

Push-pull technology in Rajdhani trains will increase the speed of the train and it will reach its destination station quickly. This will increase the safety of train operations, reduce travel time, provide comfortable ride (jerk-free) and reduce its cost. This is the reason why the Rajdhani Express train will now complete its entire journey at a speed of 160 km in the coming days. Trains can be run with existing rolling stock (electric locomotives and LHB coaches). Apart from this, it can also remove noise and polluting power cars, which will save precious diesel.
