After the start of local, the number of passengers of the metro is also likely to increase.

From today the Maharashtra government has allowed all people to travel in local trains for a limited time. In view of this, the metro administration has decided to start the metro service from Mumbai Versova to Ghatkopar 1 hour before today, to connect with Mumbai Local and facilitate passengers. The metro has made this decision after it started for all for a limited time. Explain that the same metro connecting Central and Western Railway is currently being run in Mumbai and after the start of local, there is a possibility of increasing the number of passengers of the metro.

According to the news published in Maharashtra Times, the first metro from Versova to Ghatkopar will leave at 6.30 am from today. The first metro from Ghatkopar to Versova will leave at 7.15 am. However, there has been no change in the timing of the last metro train. Versova-Ghatkopar last metro train will leave at 9.50 pm and Ghatkopar-Versova last metro train at 10.15 pm. This has been made clear by the spokesperson of Metro One. Earlier, the first metro train Versova-Ghatkopar departed at 7.50 am.

Metro 1 currently has 230 rounds a day. The metro is available for travel every 6 to 8 minutes. The metro service, which was closed during the lockdown, was started on 19 October. Currently, around 80 thousand passengers travel by metro every day. However, this figure is likely to cross lakhs as soon as the start of local trains.

For the management of congestion at the metro and railway station, the foot bridge from Andheri and Ghatkopar railway station to the metro station will be opened from 1 February. The road going from metro station to Andheri west will also be opened. The metro administration has made it clear.
