Because IRCTC Food Inspector has been appointed in some special trains to check the quality of food in the pantry car in the train. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal told in the Lok Sabha that yes, Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) supervisors have been appointed. These appointments have been made in special Rajdhani (Rajdhani), Shatabdi, Duranto, Tejas and Vande Bharat trains. Apart from this, supervisors have also been appointed in mail / express trains on sectional basis.
This is how you can complain
You can lodge a complaint through them. The Ministry of Railways has informed that the mechanism for filing complaints through the IT system of Railways has been prepared. This mechanism includes Rail Help Helpline number 139, Twitter handle, CPGRAMS, E-Mail and SMS. Information about this process is given on E-Ticket and IRCTC portal. IRCTC Supervisor has been appointed to supervise the catering services during the journey.
Received complaints so far
In the Lok Sabha, it was asked that we give information about the complaints that have come to the inspector regarding the quality of food, what action has been taken so far. On this, the government said that IRCTC Supervisors had received complaints between 01.04.2019 to 28.02.2021. In the Third Party Audit, how many contractors were found guilty of quality of food, cleanliness in pantry car and kitchen unit during last 5 years? And what action was taken against them. On this, the government said that this information has been given.
Keep this in mind
The railway has approved the catering service in February, but although there is still a ban on public use items like blankets, bed sheets, etc. in trains. The government had completely banned e-catering services due to the Corona Pandemic. IRCTC’s e-catering service can be started as soon as it gets the approval of Railway Board.
