Indian Railways has made a big expansion in the convenience of its passengers. Under the new announcement, passengers will now get bedroll facility even in those coaches, which were not available till now.
Along with the AC coaches, the Railways has also put low fare third AC economy class coaches in many trains. Tickets for this class are less than the normal third AC class, but in this, bedroll was not given by the railways till now. Now the Indian Railways Department has said that the passengers of this coach will also be given bedroll facility. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Railways, from September 20, 2022, the passengers traveling in third AC economy class coaches will also be provided bedroll.
Reserved three berths for keeping bedrolls The Railway Department was still worried about the fact that there was no space for bedrolls in third AC economy class coaches. While solving this, it has been decided that now berth numbers 81, 82 and 83 will be used for keeping linen (bedroll) in each compartment. In such a situation, on or after September 20, passengers will not be able to make their ticket reservation on these berth numbers.
Railways has also told that the passengers who have already booked tickets and their travel date is after 20 September. Also, if their berth numbers are 81, 82 and 83, then such passengers will be accommodated in other bogies under the emergency quota of the Railways. Its information will also be made available to the concerned passengers through SMS. Railways has also clarified that from September 20, passengers will not be able to book their tickets at berth numbers 81, 82 and 83 in third AC economy coach.
Bedroll facility was closed in the epidemic
The Ministry of Railways had stopped the bedroll facility in all trains running in the country during the Kovid-19 epidemic. Actually, this step was taken by the Railways to prevent the spread of corona virus infection. Later, when the conditions became normal, first bedroll facility was started in trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and now this facility is being provided in AC coaches of almost all trains.
