The year 2021 is bringing a good news for railway passengers. By this end, 200 Mail-Express class trains will increase 25,600 seats (berths). These berths will be equivalent to running 21 new trains. In these, passengers will be able to travel comfortably. This is due to the introduction of new Link Hoffman Bush (LHB) coaches in trains. According to the plan, by December 2021, these coaches will be installed in more than 200 trains of 68 railway divisions of Patrihar. These trains are currently running with old design coaches. The length of the coach is 23 meters. A train with 24 coaches has an average of 1160 berths.
Modern facilities, more secure and advanced technology coaches are being replaced in trains. It has also started. Such coaches are being manufactured at the coach factories in Kapurthala, Rae Bareli and Chennai with the technical support of the German company Link Hoffman Bush (LHB). They are 24 meters long and can have four to eight berths and similarly a train with 22 coaches will increase the average by 128 berths. There will be an increase of about 25,600 berths after the introduction of new coaches in 200 trains.

Shan-e-Bhopal Express: Two coaches decreased, even then 128 berths increased
This train is from Bhopal Railway Division of West Central Railway Jabalpur Zone. It runs from Habibganj to Hazrat Nizamuddin Station. Currently it has 24 coaches which are of old design. A sleeper coach has 72 berths, 64 in AC third, 46 in AC second, 20 berths in AC first. There are 1160 reserved berths in all. The train will run from January 1 with a new LHB coach. The new coach has eight sleeper class coaches, eight in AC third, six in AC seconds, four additional berths in AC first. In this way there will be 1288 berths in total 22 coaches.
The permission to manufacture the new LHB coaches was given by Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) Lucknow. Under this, the railways started the work of making 24 meter long coaches in all the factories. Premium class trains are already run by LHB coaches. The new coaches are also able to run smoothly in curved rail blocks.
Plan to take out the old coach
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal intends to replace the old designed coaches and to install new LHB coaches in all trains. Railway board is working fast in this direction.
DRM Udaya Borwankar of Bhopal Railway Division in Madhya Pradesh said that like Shan-e-Bhopal Express, there are plans to run all trains with new coaches. In the next one year, the remaining trains of Bhopal Railway Division will also get new coaches, because the efforts of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal have increased the capacity to make LHB coaches in railway factories. The berths will be increased in all trains run by the new coach. Passengers will benefit.
