He made his base in the Carpathian Mountains near the Hungarian border. During the night, everyone was talking by lighting a fire. He immediately reached out to his wife, Lydia Makarchuk, who was badly injured. The bomb blast had turned their happiness into mourning. Lydia’s brother and a friend died in this accident. While he has suffered serious injuries on his hands and face.
Help took one hour to reach
It took about an hour for help to arrive after the accident. Lydia said, ‘Everything was going very well. Then there was a loud bang. Some sharp things flew and hit my face, I had lost hearing. I was screaming in pain. When the smoke was removed, I saw that not only me but the rest of the people were also in the same condition. I was told later that my brother is no longer in this world.
