New Delhi. There is great news for railway passengers. Indian Railways has decided to run 660 more trains. About 983 mail and express trains are being operated daily till Friday, which is about 56 percent of the pre-covid level. Railways said that the number of trains is being increased gradually as per the demand and commercial justification. Let us tell you that there has been a slight relief from the Coronavirus pandemic and the effect of this improving situation is now clearly visible. Businesses are starting back, so workers and workers who have returned to their homes have also started returning. Due to this the demand for passenger trains has increased. In view of this, this decision has been taken.

Till June 1, about 800 mail and express trains were operating. Railway has said that during the period from June 1 to June 18, Zonal Railways have been given approval to operate 660 additional Mail/Express trains. These include 552 mail and express trains and 108 holiday special trains.

Railways said that the zonal railways have been asked to restore the operation of trains in a phased manner, assessing the local conditions, availability of tickets and the situation of Kovid-19 in the area.
