Akasa Air: During air travel, you will be able to travel by air with a pet dog or cat. The new airline Akasa Air, which recently started flying air, will allow traveling with a pet dog or cat in the aircraft from November 1, 2022. For this, booking will start from October 15, 2022.
Akasa Air has said that a person will be able to travel on board with a pet dog or cat in a cage weighing up to 7 kg. Belson Coutinho, co-founder and chief marketing and experience officer of Akasa Air, said that in the first phase, it will be allowed to travel with a domestic dog or cat. This policy can be further elaborated later. The airline will carry a pet dog or cat weighing 7 to 32 kg inside the cage in its luggage hold.
Akasa Air is working closely with an NGO Ummedforanimals for this. Through which these pet animals can be taken. However, airlines have not yet disclosed how much money passengers will have to pay for carrying a pet dog or cat. Air India, SpiceJet and Vistara also allow pets to be carried. But this facility is not available in Indigo and AirAsia. In these airlines, only those who cannot be seen are allowed to carry a service dog.
From October 7, 2022, Akasa Air is going to start the first flight from Delhi to Bangalore. By the end of October, the airlines will fly 300 flights per week.
