New Delhi. Air India will operate 24 additional domestic flights from today. The Tata Group-owned airline gave information about the new flight in a statement. According to the company, most of the additional 24 flights will be from Delhi to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad and Mumbai to Chennai and Hyderabad. Apart from this, new flights will be started on Mumbai-Bengaluru and Ahmedabad-Pune routes.
Air India MD & CEO Campbell Wilson said, “We have been working closely with our partners for the past six months to bring the planes back into service . We are glad that our efforts are now moving in the right direction. This will be the first major increase in flights since Tata Sons took control of the airline from the government earlier this year.
The festival season will enable convenient travel
, an airline spokesperson said, adding that domestic connectivity has been enabled to strengthen as more airlines are now brought into service. The expansion in domestic connectivity will meet the growing traffic needs between major metros of India and provide convenient travel for the people in the coming festival season.There will be more flights in the afternoon and evening.
These additional flights will provide more opportunities to the passengers to travel between major metros in the afternoon and evening. Air India will take the number of flights between Delhi-Mumbai to more than ten any way every day. There will be seven flights each way between Delhi-Bengaluru, four flights each way between Mumbai-Bengaluru and three flights each day on the Mumbai-Chennai, Mumbai-Hyderabad and Delhi-Ahmedabad routes.
